Help with the hot water your household relies on.
Vented and unvented cylinders, immersion heaters and associated controls: explain what has changed and arrange work with the right scope.
Tell us which system is affected.
Not every home’s hot water comes directly from a combi boiler. A cylinder may be heated by the boiler, an immersion heater or both. Photos of the cylinder’s label and accessible controls help identify it; do not remove covers or dismantle equipment to obtain them.
Loss of hot water needs a diagnosis.
Explain whether heating is still working, whether the problem affects every outlet and whether a timer or display shows anything unusual. Boiler, control, immersion and cylinder-related work have different scopes, so do not assume that a standard boiler service covers the whole hot-water system.
Servicing an unvented cylinder is separate work.
Gas Champion’s service range includes vented and unvented hot-water systems. Cylinder maintenance should follow the particular manufacturer’s requirements and the relevant qualifications for the work. Never cap, block or tamper with a discharge pipe or safety device.
Replacement and installation enquiries.
Send the current cylinder details and explain how the home’s hot-water needs have changed. The quote should set out the proposed cylinder, controls, associated pipework and what is included in commissioning and handover. Capacity is not selected by guessing from the size of the cupboard.
Not just the cylinder.
The system around it.
A stored hot-water system includes more than the cylinder. The controls, pipework and heating appliance need considering together. Send a photo of the whole arrangement when asking about a fault or planned work; you do not need to identify every component.
