Smell gas, suspect carbon monoxide
or hear your CO alarm?
Get everyone outside into fresh air. Call the National Gas Emergency Service from outside the property.
0800 111 999Do not wait for a text response or a routine online appointment. Avoid naked flames and do not operate electrical switches inside the property. If someone is seriously unwell or in immediate danger, call 999.

A boiler service and a gas safety inspection have different scopes. Ask for the relevant visit and make clear which appliances you want checked. Do not treat one boiler visit as a guarantee about every appliance in the property.

HSE recommends regular maintenance and at least annual servicing by an appropriately qualified Gas Safe registered engineer. A carbon monoxide alarm is not a replacement for maintenance and safety checks.
