Gas-fire servicing and natural-gas cooker or hob work need their own scope. Tell us what the appliance is before booking.
Gas appliances are not interchangeable jobs.
A boiler service does not automatically include a gas fire, cooker or hob. Include the appliance type, make and model if known, plus the work needed. Gas Champion works on domestic natural gas, not oil or LPG.
Gas-fire servicing.
Provide photos of the appliance and its location so that the work can be checked against the relevant qualifications and appliance requirements. Routine servicing is different from investigating an existing fault. Mention any change in operation when arranging the appointment.
Cooker and hob disconnection or connection.
Discuss the appliance and timing before delivery or kitchen work. Connection, pipework changes and any necessary checks must be scoped; a quick-looking change is not a reason to bypass the safety requirements. Do not disconnect gas fittings yourself.
Current registration is the starting point.
Check the Gas Safe register and the engineer’s ID card for the appropriate work categories. Historical employment or experience does not replace current competence for the particular appliance. If you smell gas or suspect carbon monoxide, use the emergency route rather than booking ordinary appliance work.

Do you cover LPG or oil?
No. Gas Champion’s gas-appliance services are for domestic natural gas.
Can I add a gas fire to a boiler-service booking?
Mention it before booking and confirm the combined appointment scope and price. Do not assume that additional appliances are included.
Does a landlord check service every appliance?
A gas-safety check and servicing have different purposes. Confirm any additional maintenance separately.
