How Boiler Replacement Works
The first stage is usually an estimate bracket based on a few questions and photos. This helps narrow down the likely options before anyone commits to a full installation quotation.
From there, I can advise what is best for the water chemistry in your area, your household hot water and heating requirements, available space and clearances, warranty lengths, and your budget.
Questions and photos
You share the key details and photos so I can understand the existing boiler, flue route, controls, cylinder if present, and available space.
Estimate bracket
I give an informed estimate bracket and explain the boiler, control, protection, and warranty options that suit your home.
Fixed price or site survey
Straightforward replacements can often move to a fixed price. More complex jobs need a physical site survey before quotation.
Deposit, install, completion
A deposit secures materials and the installation date. The final balance is due on completion after commissioning and registration.
When a Site Survey is Needed
If the job needs a physical visit for a full site survey, or if you need more advice to decide on location, model, system type, hot water setup, or controls, I arrange a detailed site survey. This is currently charged at £125 including VAT.
After the survey, I issue a fixed price quotation. If you proceed with the installation through Gas Champion, the site survey cost is discounted from the final bill.
Completion, Registration & Payment
For accepted fixed price installations, a deposit payment is taken so materials can be secured ready for the installation date.
On completion, the boiler is commissioned and registered as required, including Gas Safe notification, manufacturer warranty registration, and local authority building control notification where applicable. The final remaining balance is due for payment on completion.
When to Consider a New Boiler
Most boilers last 10-15 years. If yours is getting older, you might notice:
A modern condensing boiler can be up to 94% efficient, compared to 60-70% for older models. That's a significant reduction in your gas bills.

Interested?
If you're thinking about a new boiler, send the details and photos first and I can advise the right next step. Some replacements are straightforward enough to quote from the estimate process, while others are better handled with a site survey before you decide.
Many of my installation customers started as servicing clients. If I've been looking after your current boiler and it's reaching the end of its life, I'll always tell you straight whether it's worth repairing or whether it's time for a replacement.
